Published in January 2016, this book is the motorist’s guide to the geologic features of southern California, including Mojave Desert, Salton Trough, Peninsular Ranges, Los Angeles basin, and the Transverse Ranges as seen along main highways. It does not include off road byways or hiking trails. The book is 390 pages with 196 geo-referenced photographs, 84 detailed maps, and 31 interpretative diagrams – all in dazzling color. The book is the latest in the series of more than 30 Roadside Geology books published by Mountain Press Publishing Company of Missoula, Montana.
